Jakarta, Indonesia – A delegation from AccessGov conducted a series of knowledge exchange visits in Indonesia from October 17 to 23, 2024, engaging with leading academic institutions and government agencies to explore best practices in watershed management, water resource governance, and digital innovations in environmental sustainability.
The visit was part of AccessGov’s ongoing commitment to enhancing regional cooperation and learning from international counterparts to improve its GovTech solutions for sustainable resource management in the Philippines.
Exploratory Discussion with Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB)
The team visited Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), two of Indonesia’s premier institutions, where they met with faculty members, researchers, and students specializing in environmental science, engineering, and policy-making.
Discussions focused on how digital technologies and data-driven approaches are being used to support watershed conservation, environmental monitoring, and resource management. The delegation also had the opportunity to present AccessGov’s initiatives and share insights on the Philippines’ strategies in managing its natural resources.
The exchange provided valuable perspectives on how universities in both countries are contributing to sustainable development through research, policy recommendations, and technological advancements. AccessGov emphasized its interest in furthering partnerships with Indonesian institutions for potential collaborative research and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Learning from Indonesia’s Water Resource Governance: Knowledge Exchange with the Water Resources Department of Jawa Barat
In addition to academic engagements, AccessGov had the opportunity to visit the Water Resources Department in the province of Jawa Barat. This meeting allowed for a deep exchange of knowledge on water governance policies, resource allocation strategies, and innovative management systems used in Indonesia.
Both parties shared their experiences and best practices in watershed conservation, flood control, and the integration of digital solutions for monitoring and decision-making.
